The Best Apps for Keeping Track of Household Expenses

Running a household is a lot like running a business. From paying the bills to enjoying a nice meal at a restaurant, you’re always going to want to make sure that you have the necessary funds available every month. Thanks to the smartphone, keeping track of expenses is easier than ever.

If you want to be as organized as possible when it comes to your monthly expenses, here are some apps you may want to consider downloading:

#1 Bills

The Bills app allows you to keep track of any upcoming bills in the month. The great thing about this app is that you’re able to directly pay for your bills through the app, making it a true one-stop shop.

#2 Cashbook Expense Tracker

Cashbook is an expense tracker that has a slew of advanced features to make budgeting easier than ever. Cashbook lets you log expenses by adding them to the categories you create. For example, if you have a $100 fast food budget for the month, the app would deduct the amount you spent when you log it into the app. If that’s not enough, the app allows you to export your expense reports to an HTML or CSV file.

#3 Mint

Mint could be the biggest finance manager on the market. Their app allows you to categorize your spending, set up bill alerts and manage your finances. At any time throughout the month, you will be able to see how much spend in each category, and unlike other apps, Mint automatically assigns your spending to certain categories, making it easier than ever to keep track of your monthly expenses.

#4 MoneyWise

MoneyWise is a helpful app that helps you understand your financial standing throughout the month. With this app, you will be able to set your budget for multiple categories, and as you go on with the month, the bar chart will show you how much money you have left to spend.

My husband uses Mint to track our budget, he’s a lot better with his smartphone than I am so I leave it up to him. He seems to really like it.
