Energy

Will I ever feel rested again? I ask myself this question every day.

I can’t remember the last time I wasn’t tired. I wonder if it’s just because of my physical issues (Fibromyalgia, Epstein Barr, etc.), or if most adults feel this way?

I find that if I don’t rely on caffeine (I used to have a cup of black tea every morning), and I drink green juice in the morning (Apples, carrots, kale, spinach, grapes, and whatever berries I have in the house), that it helps me get through the day, but I still wake up every morning feeling exhausted.

I feel like if I could just figure out this one part of my life- how to be less tired, then everything else wouldn’t seem so overwhelming. Being tired can make you crazy.

Also, do you think there are different kinds of tired? Because I swear I’m more tired now than I was when Willa was an infant. I wonder- Do the hormones secreted when you breastfeed help you deal with the lack of sleep?

Are you tired all the time? Did you used to be tired, but now you have more energy? What’s your secret?

Willa’s 3rd Birthday

I can’t believe how time flies…

Out of Willa’s 3 birthdays, this party was my favorite. I think it’s because instead of driving myself crazy, and making a ton of food from scratch, I just served bagels, pretzels, chips, and fruit salad. I also hired entertainment- a woman who sings at our local library. The kids love her.
The weather was great, so after the entertainment, the kids played in the backyard. I bought some bubbles, hula hoops, and a badminton set. The kids had a blast! I kept it simple, and everyone (47 people!) had fun. Lesson learned.

Here are some of my favorite shots from Willa’s party:

Struggling

When I started this new site, I was determined to be more positive. I have been trying to follow the creed if you don’t have anything nice to say, then don’t say anything at all. And that is why I have been so quiet here lately. Life has turned into a shit storm. I torn the ligaments in and broke my foot/ankle 2 1/2 weeks before we moved, and right when my husband was working 10 days in a row. So in addition to the normal insanity of moving (is there some kind of rule that requires you to be difficult if you are a landlord?), I’ve also had to deal with limited mobility and an immense amount of pain, which has caused me to be in a constant state of exhaustion.

I’m tired and frustrated, but I’m trying to focus on the positive- like that fact that we are finally in our great new place.

I’ll try to get back to the regularly scheduled programming soon. I can’t wait to show you guys the new place.
