Breakfast Recipes for a High Energy Day

Whether you are going on a hike or an all-day visit to a local theme park, you need a breakfast that will power you until lunchtime. Running out the door with a cup of coffee and toast is not going to help you today. You need real food packed with protein and a tasty kick.

Mini Pizas

Dice up some turkey sausage and bacon. Fry those up with chopped onion and green pepper. Chop tomatoes, garlic and basil, and mix them together in a bowl. Toast several English muffins, and spread the tomato mixture onto each one. Add the sauteed sausage and bacon mixture to the muffins, along with a slice of mozzarella cheese. Top the muffins with scrambled eggs, and place these mini pizzas in a toaster oven to melt the cheese. You have an instant high-energy meal for the morning hours.

The Breakfast Sandwich

Beat two eggs together and fry them into a neat circle shape. Place a split bagel into a toaster oven with a piece of cheese on each section. Allow the cheese to melt. Fry up a sausage patty and place it on the bagel. Add the egg to the bagel as you press the two halves together. This melting breakfast sandwich is delectable and filling at the same time.

Breakfast Burritos

Fill your breakfast burrito with almost any ingredients you enjoy. For example, scramble two eggs and mix them with black beans. Fill a tortilla with the mixture, while adding in salsa or avocados. Sprinkle shredded cheese inside to add some creaminess to the mixture. Your high energy day starts out right with a burrito that can be wrapped in foil for an on-the-go treat.

If you want to save time in the morning, you can prepare these meals the night before. They reheat quickly in an oven or microwave to get you out the door quickly. Avoid expensive breakfasts at restaurants that don’t have any true nutritional value. Make your own recipes for hunger satisfaction and a great day ahead.

For me, oatmeal is always the best high energy breakfast, particularly in the winter. If I want to add more protein or energy to it I throw some nuts on or stir in some peanut butter. It’s delicious and healthy!
