About
My name is Torrie. I think I am 33. I often forget how old I am and have to think about it for a minute.
Some people call me a photographer. I used to be a chef.
I am a mother to Willa, who was born May 15th, 2007. She is wonderful, bright, the hit of most parties, and despite my best efforts to cover her in blue, she is a girly-girl who loves pink.
I am a doctor’s wife. We have been together for more than 13 years. My husband is kind, patient, brilliant, an amazing father, a Jeopardy! Champion, plays classical guitar, and really HOT. He works a lot, which is a constant source of stress for me. Life would be easier if I didn’t like him so much.
I was born and raised in Manhattan. We moved to the suburbs right outside the city a little while ago, and it’s been an adjustment. I don’t really fit in here.
We are vegan, and our daughter is 100% vegetarian and mostly vegan. We like yoga. And farmer’s markets. We believe in equality. We don’t mind if you call us hippies.
We live with 4 animals- Dexter, Mookie, Itsy, and Annie. 3 out of 4 of them have medical problems.
I have been blogging for about 7 years. My old blog had the word “HATE” in the title. I complained a lot. I decided it was time for me to be more positive, more grateful, and set a better example for my daughter.
This blog is about my journey to become a better, healthier, happier person. It’s not always easy. I struggle. I am a chronic pain sufferer. I have 5 herniated disks in my back, adhesive capsulitis in my shoulder, and have been diagnosed with fibromyalgia. This makes my daily life difficult. I’m always looking for a “cure” for my pain.
Among other things, I like tea, books, impromptu dance parties, bagels, the summer, singing, board games, laughing, cooking, magazines, antique shops, and long walks in comfortable shoes. (MY GOD! I sound like an old lady.)
