4 New Fashion Colors for Spring

Staying in style when you’re a mom can be challenging. Your lifestyle is busy, your budget is crunched, and it can be tough to keep up with the latest trends. For a quick pick-me-up to your daily look, try adding one of these four new great colors to your repertoire. Whether you select a cool warm-weather dress, a snazzy belt or scarf, or a necklace or earrings, focusing on these shades this spring is a sure way to stay on trend in the office and at the playground.

1. Placid Blue
According to the designers at Pantone, pastels are hot for Spring. One of their picks is this gorgeous shade of sky; picture a periwinkle or a hydrangea. Far from baby blue, this deep pale azure is the perfect pick to pair with a bolder accent color.

2. Cayenne
This spicy shade is perfect for those who are tired of a basic red, but still want to add a pop of color to their wardrobes. An orangey-red that evokes the pepper that gives it a name, cayenne is not only a great choice for accessories, but can also be incorporated into your makeup bag with lipstick and nail polish shades that look gorgeous on any skin tone.

3. Radiant Orchid
This gorgeous pinky-purple shade was named Pantone’s Color of the Year for 2014, and it’s easy to see why. It’s a flattering, warm tone that’s been popping up everywhere, from scarves to shoes to lipstick shades. Because it’s so bright, just a little of this amazing hue goes a long way toward upping your style quotient.

4. Freesia
Look to your garden for this dazzling golden yellow, which pairs easily with all the neutrals in your closet for a springy pop of color. This is also a great match for any of the muted pastels that are in for spring.

I’m not really one for staying on trend, but I’m glad to hear that pastels will be around this spring. I love pale blues and pinks, I have my whole house decorated in those shades.

I’m a huge fan of the cayenne trend, especially for lipsticks and shoes. The bright red looks perfect with a little black dress.
